Do you feel uncomfortable when you are in front of a crowd? Do you tell yourself, “I am not supposed to be here!” when you are asked by the pastor to come on stage to join the choir? Do you feel as if everyone in the crowd is looking at you?
Don’t worry, you are not alone and everyone hates that feeling. I know I do.
So what can you do about it? I will tell you what I do? I simply close my eyes and pray. Ask God to guide me. Tell him that I want to focus on Him. That I want to be sincere in my heart – in worship to Him.
What about the crowd? Nobody will bother that you are there after the first minute. Simply because everyone in the crowd wants to worship God. If they are judging you, that is their problem, not yours!
Remember ministry is unto the Lord. Worship leaders and singers are not meant to display their ability to sing or play music. They are there to lead the peoples in worship. Take them closer to God – lead them to the Holy of Holies.
While you are up there, might as well make the most of it.
